Monty Sarhan has been named General Counsel and Senior Vice President of WWE (NYSE: WWE)in Stamford, Connecticut in the Greater New York City Area. Reporting directly to World Wrestling Entertainment Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, Mr. Sarhan oversees the legal and business affairs of the company and serves as the principal legal adviser to the chairman, CFO and management team.
Prior to joining WWE, Mr. Sarhan was senior vice president of business and legal affairs for Viacom Media Networks, where he oversaw business affairs for the premium movie network EPIX. Before EPIX, Sarhan was a Vice President in Viacom’s Media Networks division. Before joining Viacom, Mr. Sarhan founded and ran two separate start-ups—developing the concepts and business models, raising money and growing both. Mr. Sarhan was the sole founder and CEO of Cracked Entertainment. Before that, Sarhan co-founded and ran a start-up in the financial services/technology space.
Mr. Sarhan began his career practicing law in the New York office of White & Case, LLP, a multi-national law firm. He was an associate in the corporate department and handled a range of transactions with a focus on IP-related work. He worked with clients including e*trade, Pfizer, and the NFL. graduate of Duke University‘s School of Law, Mr. Sarhan earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University.
